Flashes and Floaters (Vitreous Detachment)

What are flashes?

Flashes look like twinkles or curved lightning streaks in the peripheral vision. They are most visible when the eye quickly moves left and right in a dark environment.

What are floaters?

Floaters are small flecks or shadows that move in the peripheral or central vision. Most people normally experience a few floaters, but tend to notice them if they become more prominent.
